Description

The spotted python is the boldest-patterned of Australia’s pygmy pythons — irregular chocolate blotches scattered down a cream body, like spilled ink that never dries. This hatchling is EU captive-bred, feeding on defrosted pinkies, and priced as the most affordable entry into python keeping we offer. Spotteds stay comfortably around a metre and keep the calm Antaresia temperament that makes the whole genus famous among beginners.

Spotted Python Care Basics

Start the hatchling in a small, secure tub with snug hides — small snakes feel safe in small spaces, and safe snakes feed. Move up to the adult vivarium around 12–18 months. Weekly pinkies now, stepping up prey size with each 50 g of growth. Spotteds are enthusiastic feeders; use a hook tap before handling so it learns the difference between dinner time and cuddle time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fragile is a hatchling python?

Antaresia hatchlings are among the toughest in the trade — established feeders, which ours are, almost never look back.

How big will it be in a year?

Roughly 60–80 cm with steady weekly feeding — large enough to feel like a proper python, small enough to house effortlessly.

Spotted, Stimson’s or Children’s — how do I choose?

Care is identical across the trio. Spotteds are the largest and boldest-marked; choose by the pattern that catches your eye.
